๐Ÿ™๏ธ Final Minecraft Build-Off Challenge: โ€œBuild an American Cityโ€

๐Ÿ“… Due Date: Friday, November 15th at 5:00 PM EST
๐ŸŽฎ Theme: Recreate a Well-Known American City

๐Ÿ”จ Objective

Your challenge is to design and build a famous American city in Minecraft โ€” one that captures the heart and landmarks of your chosen location. You can choose from examples such as New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, or select another iconic U.S. city.

Your goal is to showcase both creativity and accuracy, while demonstrating teamwork, planning, and attention to detail.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Build Requirements

  1. City Landmarks:
Include at least 3 recognizable landmarks or structures that represent your city (e.g., Statue of Liberty for New York, the Strip for Las Vegas, the Golden Gate Bridge for San Francisco).

  2. City Layout:
Design streets, parks, or other signature features that give your city a realistic layout.

  3. Scale & Detail:
Focus on detail, proportion, and architectural creativity โ€” the build should feel like the real city.

  4. Signage:
Place a clear sign or board at spawn with your cityโ€™s name and team member names.

  5. Teamwork:
You may work solo or in teams of up to 4 students. Be sure to share responsibilities evenly.

๐ŸŽฅ Video Submission Guidelines

  • Record a tour video (no longer than 10 minutes) showing off your city build.

  • The video must include narration throughout the tour. Each team member should speak at some point, describing:

    • The name of your city and your team members

    • The key landmarks and what they represent

    • Any unique design choices or challenges you faced while building

  • Include a brief introduction and conclusion in your narration.

  • You may include background music, but narration must remain clearly audible and school-appropriate.

๐Ÿš€ Submission Instructions

  1. Upload your video file or unlisted YouTube link to the designated classroom or Colegia platform.

  2. Make sure your submission is timestamped before 5:00 PM EST on November 15.

  3. Late submissions will receive point deductions.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips for Success

  • Research your city before building โ€” look up key architecture, layout, and skyline.

  • Use a mix of materials and lighting to bring your build to life.

  • Practice your narration โ€” speak clearly and confidently, as if giving a tour in real life.

  • Consider adding vehicles, signs, or small details (like streetlights or trees) for realism.

  • Keep your video smooth โ€” rehearse your fly-through before recording!
